Holy Crow It's the First Day of School!

Well our little people went off to school once again.  Only they are not so little anymore!

6th grade-no way....he is now the top dog at the school.  It's hard to believe this will be his last year of elementary school already.  He wasn't real excited this morning but once he got there and started seeing his buddies it was "later mom & dad" and off he went! :o) He has a cool teacher this year too so that's an added bonus.

2nd grade-this too is hard to believe....it seems like it was just yesterday she was a little preschooler and one of the really little people in the building.  She loves her teacher and was super excited to get to school this morning-the first one up actually!

Just wait in a few short years we'll be bringing a new little Moen to school! Oh Boy!

The kids were super excited when they smelled breakfast this morning...yummy cinnamon rolls.  Special treat for a special day.

Even Zoey got a yummy roll...she was so confused today...she didn't know what to think when we left her brother and sister at school and went back home.  She wandered around for awhile looking for them and she lite up when she saw them coming down the hall after school and gave them each big hugs.

What a pair...the annual pic on the first day!

This was so cute!!! Zoey was wearing her new "kicks" this morning and Bayleann put Zoey's backpack on and she went straight to the door to go to school too!

Boog with Mr. Wagner!

Bayleann with Mrs. McDaniel....she loves Pixar and Disney movies....She's got characters all over her room :o)

We are off to a great start to another great school year!

Summer Slow Down!

I know we say it every year...but where did the Summer run off too? School starts in just over a week. Bayleann of course is ready to go-Austin not so much :o) He's not looking forward to the homework! 6th grade and 2nd grade already-can't believe it.  August was another busy month-hence no blog entries (I always tell myself I'm going to get better about posting in the summer but it never really happens!) Oh Well...enjoy some of the things we did lately.....
Notice the small square bales? Bayleann and I came home from dance this summer one night and found these lining our driveway....Lil Farmer Austin used his John Deere wagon and collected the grass clippings and made bales.  Andy said he worked at that for most of the night :o) What a kid!

We made our annual camping trek to Lac Qui Parle State Park this year. The weather was absolutely beautiful! Sunny and cool! We love this campground-the kids have nice open areas to play and ride bikes. Plus there is an awesome thrift shop in Montivideo :o) We have a blast each year....

Zoey kept pretty close tabs on big brother...always close behind him when he was playing :o)

Dancin in the grass...our girls!

Found a sittin' spot that was the perfect height for a Zo Zo, plus it was close to dirt which is her favorite!

Going in!

A new hiding spot???

Each of the kids have loved this John Deere wagon...we got it when Austin was little.  They love riding in it, pulling it around and even using it for making bales :o)

Bye Bye Momma!

Giving it a pull for herself...

Bayleann was pumped to be riding her brother's four wheeler...the only problem is this girl only has one speed setting! HIGH & FAST!!! Oh boy!

In early August Austin participated in a Basketball camp at the U of M in Morris run by the Boys Basketball head coach.  He loved it! We had over 20 kids from the 5th-7th grade teams go to this camp.

The gym is on the lower level and you can be up top and take some cool pictures of the games below...

Bayleann and I went outside and walked around the campus for a bit during one of the practices...We went down on the newly painted football field...She loved how the turf felt under her feet...I dared her to run the length of the field (I was hoping to wear her out-not so much!)

Austin won a ribbon for a lay-up competition and received a gold trophy too! Way to go Boog!

The 4th-6th graders with the coaches...

Working hard on her lap top just like momma

Now she's gotta make some calls!

Took a break from workin' to do some dancin'

Our neighbor came over the other afternoon with his new toy...a big mower that goes behind the tractor...And see that little person in the cab...Bayleann got to go along for the ride when he mowed over a big patch of willows that were takin' over our field road to the lake...She loved it!

I'm berry cute in my strawberry jammies!

The kids went down to the lake with Dad and came back with some of the willow sticks that were mowed over and decided to build a TP....Warning: If you have allergies don't go too near the TP...the covering is all ragweed! I had to hold my breath to take pictures!!!

Not sure if that looks comfy or not...They had a cute Welcome sign and little signs with their names on them...What creativity they have!

Their tenant of the TP....A grasshopper in a jar :o) He was later released due to not paying the rent! HA!

Ears with holes, critters, sunscreen......

Fun in the sun! That is what's been happening at the Moen household lately...we are finally winding down on our baseball season for the kiddos...not sure if they are happy or sad about that yet.  Bayleann's summer season ended last Wednesday and Austin's will end this coming Wednesday with a tournament in Wadena.  I'd have to say I'm not real sad-I love watching my monkies but the sunburn and bleacher butt is getting alittle old :o) It official we've emptied a whole bottle of sunscreen already.

Rounding 3rd base for her home run!!!

Another homer on her last day of baseball :o)

Austin team....a good bunch of kids!

Stole third...wasn't even a big effort...just jogged!

What a bean pole

It seems like every year we play a game in Bertha and it's the hottest day of the year! See the haze in the air...

Last Saturday we took Bayleann to the mall for alil' surprise.  She's been wanting to get her ears pierced for quite some time, but was always a little scared that it was going to hurt too much.  The kids had taken all their spare change to the bank earlier that day and cashed it in...so we told her that she could use some of her money to get her ears pierced and she was all for that!  She was nervous...wanted to hold Daddy's hand and the bear-but she did great! And her new holes look so cute!

She didn't even shed a tear! What a brave girl!

She chose cute multi colored flowers for her studs...she reminds me everyday to help her clean them and is counting down the days before she gets to go and pick out some cute earrings :o)

I came home the other night to find Mr. Box on the front steps....He's what you would call a box with personality

OH NO MR. BOX IS ALIVE!!!!!

We started out our holiday weekend with a small road trip...the kids wanted a few non-Minnesota fire works so we thought we'd make our annual trip to Wahpeton..fireworks-the zoo-and a trip to our favorite restaurant the Fryin' Pan.  Even though we go to the Chahinkapa Zoo each year it is still a fun time for the kids....the animals here have quite the personalities.  This year Zoey was old enough to enjoy it too!

The whole family loves the otters!

They would swim close to the glass and Zoey would just smile and giggle! Wish we could take one home!

The other fun guys at the zoo are always the monkeys! They seem to put on a show whenever people come by :o) Zoey loved these guys too...

My monkies!

Zoey is playing peek-a-boo with.....

Mr. Bear

Notice the little fingers trying to coach the little ducklings over to pet them....Momma duck wasn't real impressed with this whole thing

Zoey wasn't real sure of the petting area of the zoo....She was fine looking at them from Daddy's arms but wanted nothing to do with petting them!

My favorite monkies!

TA-DA

Here Mr. Otter....want a tuddy?

There are no words.......

This is my monkey face mommy!

These little guys are a hoot...bobbin all over the place

We decided to have some fun in the water n sun....the kids enjoyed some time in the mini pool.  They had fun splashing each other and mom n dad had some relaxing time in the shade/sun enjoying the view.

Zoey had a blast in her own little kiddy pool...She was amazed with the princess's on the bottom under the water :o)

Love those little toes!

Pointing at her siblings splashing in their pool...

The kids got their favorite fireworks again this year....little parachute guys.  We only lost one in the lake this year! They love watching them pop in the air and trying to follow where they will land.

Austin wanted to go to Ripley again...we hadn't been there in a couple years so off we went for a day trip...Austin lookin so tough in his muscle shirt with a fresh mohawk

No if that's not the cutest lil sailor you've ever seen!!!!!!

See my muscles sailor!

WOW

Enjoying some pink wafer cookies....what a messy Zoey!

Happy 4th Everyone
I've had a busy weekend! It's time for a tubby and a nap!
